Treatability Testing

ERS' Laboratory is equipped with a range of analytical tools for rapid and cost effective screening of remedial treatments

Laboratory-based tests can support the technical and financial evaluation of a proposed treatment process.

Treatability testing can also guide the progress of ongoing remediation, helping to ensure that development timescales are adhered to and that projects proceed as expected.

Where problems do occur, we can characterise these and advise on appropriate solutions.

Our team includes experienced laboratory scientists, using standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure that different treatments are compared in a reliable and consistent manner.

We work closely with clients to tailor treatability testing and treatment optimisation to suit your needs, selecting tests as appropriate and including:

  • bioremediation treatability testing for hydrocarbon contaminated soils using soil respirometry to assess remedial potential, contaminant toxicity and nutrient requirements
  • hexavalent chromium removal from groundwater - laboratory trials assist in selecting and optimising site-specific solutions
  • stabilisation of metal contamination in soil - laboratory testing of binder formulations prior to full scale treatment ensures cost-effective treatment.
